Gristle's Hide

Worchag the Hunter is distraught about his inability to hunt the great bear known as Gristle. He would surely be ecstatic if you brought him the hide of Gristle.

Find Worchag the Hunter (Greater Faydark  at 49, -180  • Near Guard Naldina at southern lift) .

You say, 'Hail, Worchag the Hunter'

Worchag the Hunter mutters to himself angrily before looking up at you, 'What do you want, <Player race>?'

Worchag raises a small flask to his lips before taking a long gulp.

You say, 'I just followed the scent of liquor here from the lift. I figured a keg fell down from the city.'

Worchag the Hunter laughs deeply before taking another long gulp of his mead, 'You aint so fine smelling yourself, <Player race>! I am normally not the kind of man to turn down good companionship but I am waist high in problems and need some time to think.

You say, 'What kind of problems?'

Worchag the Hunter takes another sip from his flask, 'As you can see I am a hunter. A hunter from Halas. The best hunter Halas has seen.'

Worchag pauses abrubtly before sighing and staring into the forest. The breath from his sigh reeks of alcohol.

You say, 'Go on.'

Worchag the Hunter says, 'Go on about what?'

You say, 'About your pro...'

Worchag the Hunter says, 'Oh yes my problem! Well you see, Froglok, I am here after a great beast. Big haulking bear... tall as a horse. The woodelves have taken to calling him Gristle. I have spent too long hunting small game outside of Halas to barely make ends meet. That pelt of that beast would buy me a small home and business! No more four day long hunting trips. No more being trapped in a tent in the middle of the tundra with other men who have spent the last three days tracking mammoths without a bath or shower. I am going to make hunting finally pay for me. That is why I am here.'

Worchag takes another drink out of his flask.'

You say, 'So whats the problem? You still have yet to tell me the pro...'

Worchag the Hunter interupts you angrily, 'I barely got away from the blasted thing with my life! Thats the problem! The thing is a Shojar damned monstrosity!' Worchag takes another swig out of his flask before quickly shaking it. The pittiful swishing noise of the last few drops in an empty container seem to anger Worchag. 'USELESS!' Worchag throws the flask violently to the forest floor. It lands near his hunting spear, 'And YOU are useless too you old stupid spear! That thing has teeth longer than you!' Worchag pauses, his face twisting from rage to profound thought, 'I need to get more mead...'

You say, 'What if I got you Gristle's pelt?'

Worchag the Hunter says, 'You could not be doin it on your lonesome, man!' Worchag hiccups loudly, 'No. No! I would not want the death of a young <Player Race> on my consciouss. Thank ye but no.'

You say, 'I have friends. You just think about what your going to do when you get that pelt. I will be back.'

Worchag the Hunter looks disbelievingly, 'Just do not get yourself killed. I am beginning to like you...' Worchag wobbles unsteadily.

You say, 'You will get your hide, Worchag... Worchag? Are you alright?'

Worchag the Hunter falls over on his side, snoring loudly.

Note: Worchag transforms into a passed out version of himself that is lying on the ground and will not give the quest to any others who hail him.

Find and kill Gristle ([[]]  •) , loot Giant Bear Pelt.

Return to Worchag the Hunter and give the pelt to his passed out version.

Worcheg the Hunter's mouth falls open as he gathers himself and peers up at the pelt, 'You did it you little pissant! I can not believe it! And you are giving it to me? I am speechless, Malaclypse. Here... it is not much but its all I have! '

Worchag throws you his adventuring pack before thanking you one last time and departing Kelethin.

You receive 1500 experience.

You receive Meat Pie (x10) from Worchag the Hunter.

You receive Honey Mead (x5) from Worchag the Hunter.
