Note: This escort quest involves killing mobs which are dark blue to 65 in waves of increasing size without time to meditate in between. A small group is suggested, as well as having full health and mana before starting it.

Find Gimble Highsprocket (Shadowdale  at 1484, 2307, 297  •) .

You say, 'Hail, Gimble Highsprocket'
Gimble Highsprocket says, 'Ho ho, the machine is complete at last! The parts you've gathered have let us finish it!'
You say, 'What machine?'
Gimble Highsprocket says, 'Why, this one!'

An Ectorachno Observator spawns.

You say, 'That's... uh... impressive.'
Gimble Highsprocket says, 'Yes, it is. Now all that's left to do is pilot it to Rivervale, where it can safely spy on the spirits therein without being torn into a million icky bits. Be a sport, would you, and follow it to make sure it gets there in one piece? If it gets damaged, it'll take me a long time to repair it.'
The Ectorachno Observator begins to clank and whir!
Gimble Highsprocket shouts, 'Okay, I've gotten it to the road. Here we go!'

Follow Ectorachno Observator west along the road and then north towards the exit to Rivervale. Along the way, three groups of a seeking shadow (Whisperling Forest  • Western half of Whisperling) will attack, preceeded by this emote:

Attracted by the cursed ore, shadows emerge from the wood!

The first wave will have two a seeking shadow, the second wave will have four a seeking shadow and the last will have six a seeking shadow. Once the last NPC in a wave dies, the Ectorachno Observator will immediately start moving again until stopping just outside the zone-line to Rivervale.

Gimble Highsprocket shouts, 'No, I did *not* nod off at the controls! The Ectorachno Observator was resting for a *good reason*!'
Gimble Highsprocket shouts, 'Okay, before I move it into Rivervale, you should go talk to the Ectorachno Observator to wish it luck. Don't give me that look! Just do it!'

Hail the Ectorachno Observator.

You say, 'Good luck, robot.'

You gain faction experience!!
