Find Guardsman Kombe (Western Badlands  at -748, -4202  • Second guard tower going east from Centaur Hills) .

You say, 'Hail, Guardsman Kombe'

Guardsman Kombe says, 'I have to remain ever vigilant to protect these lands, so unless there is something I can help you with, please move along.'

You say, 'What happened to Kilith and Jenser?'

Guardsman Kombe says, 'Ugh, not this again! How many times must I answer the same questions? They passed here a few days ago. Kilith was going to see Farmer Nolan about a job. Jenser was selling some stuff. I bought these infernal bracers. Anything else?'

You say, 'Who is Farmer Nolan?'

Guardsman Kombe says, 'Nolan's farm is on the outskirts of Western Badlands, dangerous teritory. He's a bitter man because he is forced to farm on inferior land. Shady character, gave the same warning to Kilith I did. Says he never saw the brothers-in-law, and right enough, no trace of them there, but I'll wager he knows something. Good luck getting it out of him, try telling him 'Kombe sent you'.'

Find Farmer Nolan (Western Badlands  at -1442, -12849  • Area of the road that forms a loop in the eastern end of the zone) .

You say, 'Hail, Farmer Nolan'

Farmer Nolan looks you up and down nervously, 'Hello stranger. I've got no work for someone such as yourself. Good day to you.'

You say, 'Kombe sent me.'

Farmer Nolan says, 'Oh, he did, did he? Well like I've said to everyone else he sent, I don't know nothing about Kilith and the other one, they didn't come here! Maybe bandits got them, yeah, that's probably what happened.'

You say, 'So you think bandits got them?'

Farmer Nolan says, 'Yeah, there's plenty of them around these parts, always terrorizing me, stealing my money and destroying my crops. They're not a group you want to get involved with, and I suggest you forget any hopes of finding Kilith, or else you might get hurt.'

You say, 'Is that a threat?'

Farmer Nolan laughs, 'Well what do you think happened to all the others who came asking about him? They came here, sticking their noses into other peoples business and got themselves killed. Are you sure you really want to know the truth?'

You say, 'Of course I do.'

Farmer Nolan shakes his head, 'In that case, you'll need to prove you can keep me safe should those ruffians get wind of what I might tell you. There are two bandit camps in this region, and the leader of each of those camps is said to carry an amulet to show that he's boss. Bring me both amulets, and we'll talk.

Gather and give Farmer Nolan:

• Neverik's Amulet
• Borstick's Amulet

Farmer Nolan says,'Well, I am impressed, none of the others managed to survive this trial. I thank you for eliminating the competition, but it's too bad that your efforts have gone to waste, because I will never betray my allies!'

Note: At this point Farmer Nolan attacks you. Kill him and loot the vambraces and the note.

Bug!

If Farmer Nolan's corpse falls through the floor when you defeat him and cannot be right-clicked, you can target it with "/target Far" and loot it with "/loot".

You receive Antique Plate Vambraces.

You receive Scribbled Note.
