A Paladin checks her comrade for life signs after an unexpected run-in with a decaying corpse.

The Paladin is one of three Tank classes in Shards of Dalaya, alongside the Warrior and his dark counterpart, the Shadowknight. The Paladin has many distinctions from the others, not the least of which is his ability to Lay on Hands which heals a target instantly for a great amount of hp. The Paladin is the master of AE Aggro and is better than the other two tanks at getting, and holding, the attention of many enemies at once. Their ability to hold aggro on a single target, while not as quick as a Shadowknight or Warrior, is still decent (You must use an AE blind inbetween normal blinds or let blind wear off to get aggro from it again so you can Blind->AE Blind->Blind->Stun->AA Stun while using taunt and bash for larger aggro). Paladins have a 10% innate chance to crit yet lack a mitigation stance making them less desired for main tanking roles.

Paladins are the undisputed masters of killing undead and are able to land Cleansing Blows against them. Simply having a Paladin in your group will allow all party members to land melee critical strikes against undead whom normally are immune to them. Paladins also have many anti-undead spells, along with other healing spells, which gives them some great flexibility when things begin to go wrong. Finally, a paladin may be saved from death to undead via an innate ability known as Divine Refusal.

If you like tanking, hate the living dead, and aren't afraid of keeping 4+ enemies off of your support at once, then you might find that the Paladin is for you.
