You have put Ansaag and the lesser tribes in their place, and the Farhag tribe has taken you in as one of their own. Of all of Fendrik's murderers, only Winterfang now remains, and Ferdolen the Farhag Elder has given you vital information as to where Winterfang's family can be found, and how to draw him out of hiding.

Find Jermey Frostfang (Shadowdale  at 1454, 2253, 298  • Council of Innovation camp) and Molly Frostfang (Shadowdale  at 1446, 2266, 298  • Council of Innovation camp) .

You say, 'Hail, Molly Frostfang'
Molly Frostfang says, 'Who... who are you! If you don't leave now we'll call the council! They are good people and really strong!'
You say, 'I'm a... friend... of your dad. I need to speak with him.'
Molly Frostfang says, 'A friend of Fathers? Really? We need help!'
You say, 'What is the problem?'
Molly Frostfang says, 'Its mother... she went off to find father after he didn't return... the hunters here found signs of a struggle... we think the Goblins of Redsun Mines got her! Please! I'm sure our father would thank you personally if you saved mom!'
Jeremy Frostfang says, 'Please! You gotta help her!'
You say, 'No problem kids, I'll reunite you in no time.'
The children brighten up and smile a little bit.

Find Elsa Frostfang (Red Sun Mines  at -957, -506, 39  • In a jail cell with A caged imp) .

You say, 'Hail, Elsa Frostfang'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'Who... who are you...'
You say, 'Your children sent me to help you. Lets get going.'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'They sent... help? Thank you... but its not that simple...'
You say, 'It never is...'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'Thank you... Thank you so much... but hurry... they'll return soon, and I'm afraid...'
Note: Journal entry at this point reads: Why can nothing EVER be simple! Just once I'd like to walk into a dungeon and NOT have to genocide the entire population to find the ONE obscure key from some arbitrary minion. Ah well... she needs a shackle key to free her from her bindings, and a gate potion to take her home afterwards. I'll just have to handle it.

Gather a Key of Burning Bonds and a Reinhardt's Rapid Return (a Potion of Origin does not work), and give them to Elsa Frostfang.

Elsa Frostfang says, 'Oh thank Althuna. I'm so glad there are still good people in this world. Return to our home, and we will try our best to reward you for your efforts.'
Elsa Frostfang fades away.
Note: At this point, there are a series of dialog paths where you can choose to reveal yourself as a follower of Tarhyl. This may result in you having to put the Frostfang family in the jar by force. The dialog path shown allows you to get the family in the jar peacefully.
You say, 'Hail, Molly Frostfang'
Molly Frostfang says, 'You did it! You saved mother! Look here she is now!'

Elsa Frostfang appears at the doorway.

You say, 'Hail, Elsa Frostfang'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'I just want to thank you again for helping me. I never thought I'd see my children again. They tell me you are a friend of my husbands. He is always so busy... Where did you two meet? He so very rarely brings his companions home for us to meet.'
You say, 'I was with your husband during his Red Sun Peaks mission.'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'Ah, so then you also had something against the Flame Lord Tarhyl?'
You say, 'You could say that. More Fendrik really.'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'I don't know why Althuna disliked Fendrik, but if it was her will, then he must have been rotten. Most Tarhyl worshipers are.'
You say, 'Althuna? You are a bit confused dear. Your Winterfang is a Shojar follower.'
Elsa Frostfang says, 'NO! It can't be true! I don't believe it!'
You say, 'Listen, and listen carefully, your lives are all in danger. Your husband has powerful enemies, on their way here now. I'm going to take you to him, but you gotta trust me again. Get in this Magic Jar. Don't resist it.'
Elsa Frostfang sobs and nods. 'Children, cooperate. The enemies of Shojar are powerful and clever. We'll need all the help we can get. Thank you... thank you so much.'
You say, '[Activate the Magic Jar]'
The Frostfang family is pulled into the jar!

Return to Tower of Tarhyl and summon the Farhag Elders by speaking with Archfiend Ghanherizoc (Tower of Tarhyl  • Lobby) .

You say, 'Hail, *Ferdolen the Farhag Elder'
*Ferdolen the Farhag Elder says, 'We sense you have the Jar, give it to us.'

Give the Jar of the Djari to *Ferdolen the Farhag Elder.

*Ferdolen the Farhag Elder says, 'You are as clever as you are brutal. Worthy of the attention of the Farhag indeed. When your revenge is complete, and the spear remade, do not forget our assistance. Take now this vessel for the reforging of the spear.'
The Farhag Elder cackles in delight.

You receive Spear-Case of Tarhyl from *Ferdolen the Farhag Elder.

You say, 'Remake the spear?'
*Ferdolen the Farhag Elder says, 'Indeed. In the end, you have been collecting the pieces from the dead have you not? When you have the last one, place all 6 pieces within. The spear will blaze a new, with you as its new master. And all will know you as Tarhyls new champion.'
You say, 'Very well. But first, Winterfang...'
*Ferdolen the Farhag Elder says, 'He knows. Take the Jar, and go to the Frost Horn. On top of a glacier, by the Entrance to the Caverns of the Deep one, Winterfang waits. Expect the fight of your life.'

Travel to Frosthorn Coast at (-3386, 4577, -25) at the location specified by Ferdolen. Winterfang (Frosthorn Coast  • Island above Caverns of the Deep One) will spawn.

You say, 'Hail, Winterfang'
Winterfang says, 'You've killed my companions. Threatened my friends. Tracked me to the ends of the earth, and now hold my family hostage. Well you have me, you finally have me, so let my family go.'
You say, 'Your first mistake, was daring to attack me. Your second, leaving me alive. Your final, will be being weaker than me in the end. [Smash the Magic Jar into the glacier, killing those inside.]'
Winterfang shouts, 'NO! NO! NO! <Player Name>, there can be no forgiveness for one as sick and twisted as you! I'll drag you back to Shojar and keep you frozen, yet alive, until the end of days!'

Winterfang attacks. Kill Winterfang, and loot Heart of the Spear.

Combine the following within the Spear-Case of Tarhyl to create Sacred Spear of Tarhyl.

  • Handle of the Spear
  • Shaft of the Spear
  • Grip of the Spear
  • Head of the Spear
  • Ornaments of the Spear
  • Heart of the Spear

Return to Tower of Tarhyl and speak with High Warden Ansaag (Tower of Tarhyl  • Lobby) .

You say, 'Hail, High Warden Ansaag'
High Warden Ansaag says, 'That power... the Sacred Spear! You... you have rebuilt it? Impossible, I will not believe it until I hold it myself.'

Show him the Sacred Spear of Tarhyl.

High Warden Ansaag says, 'I... I...'
You say, 'I am not asking. This is your final warning. Take me to Tarhyl.'
High Warden Ansaag glares, hatred, rage, and envy burning in his eyes. But after a moment you are engulfed in powerful flames...

Find Tarhyl the Flame Lord (Tower of Tarhyl  •)

You say, 'Hail, Tarhyl the Flame Lord'
The Lord of Flame looks over you as you approach, you believe you see amusement in his eyes.
You say, 'Master, I have traveled far, and fought and defeated many of our enemies to stand before you today.'
Tarhyl the Flame Lord nods. 'Indeed, I know much of your exploits. I have looked on, first in amusement, than in anger, and finally in praise. You embody my truths, and your strength embodies my ideals.
You say, 'You flatter me Master.'
Tarhyl the Flame Lord says, 'Today, you take the first step towards far greater things. Fendrik was nothing compared to your might. I shall replace the brand of my Farhags, and give my own personal mark.'

Hand him your Brand of the Farhag Elder.

You receive Brand of Tarhyl's Champion from Tarhyl the Flame Lord.

Tarhyl the Flame Lord shouts, 'Arise <Player Name>, my new champion. You are my spear now, the weapon I shall use to strike my enemies. Pathetic tribes, hail your new Warlord.'
Searing pain courses through your body as the new brand materializes.
You say, 'Master, in my travels there were two oddities that I believe you should know about. They were Fiele and Monohar...'
Tarhyl listened intently to <Player Name> and the events pertaining to this chaos pool and the mysterious Master. It was impossible to know then, but this would mark the beginning of a great struggle to come...
You say, 'Hail, Tarhyl the Flame Lord'
Tarhyl the Flame Lord says, 'When the time comes, I will send you to do my bidding, and nations will weep as you demolish them. For now, if you find your brand to be inadequate, I can remake it anew, with different powers. Otherwise, why not enjoy the company of Askaril's or his Harem. Whichever it is you enjoy most.'

You may hand him back the brand to cycle through three different variants.
