Clerics are the best healers throughout the game and as such are highly sought after. They also have the best AC and HP buffs. Their main buff lines improve their target's HP and armor class, although some buffs also have a minor effect on other stats. They also get increasingly better resurrection spells; when cast on a corpse, these spells allow the cleric to instantly teleport the player back to their corpse. In addition, most of these spells partially negate the experience debt incured by dying. Defensively, it is to be noted Clerics are the only priest to be able to wear plate armor, allowing them to take a little less damage than other caster classes. Offensively, they have limited nuking and melee capabilities but can cast several spells aimed at destroying undead creatures.

Starting statistics

The cleric class receives 30 starting points to distribute in the various stats. The stats that the game deems important to the class are strength, stamina, and wisdom. Wisdom is considered the most important stat for clerics, but other stats such as strength, stamina, and charisma are useful to a lesser extent.
