Researcher Talban says, 'Aha, you there! Just what I was looking for, an adventurer to help with my studies.'

You say, 'Go on, I'm listening.'

Researcher Talban says, 'you see, there are many magical creatures within the forests of Faydark - especially here in the lesser regions. The pixies, and shadows are two such creatures, and I would love to research their... properties if you will.'

You say, 'you want to study the shadows?'

Researcher Talban says, 'Ahh the shadows, yes... they appear to be the spirits of the fallen. Hmm, I do wish I could get ahold of their essences to study them, and discover what exactly happende.'

You say, 'So I gather their essences?'

Researcher Talban says, 'Yes! Their essences - gather ten such essences and return them to me. I will share what I learn of their origins and properties.'

Gather and give ten Shadow Essence to Researcher Talban.

Researcher Talban says, 'Yes, yes - this will do nicely!' Researcher Talban pours the vial of essence into his hand and then inspects it, 'Hmm, yes... just do like so and, ah... oh!' A small explosion engulfs Researcher Talban and he coughs, 'My, that was close! Well now, how about you take a look at what was created hmm?'

You receive 3000 Experience Points!!
