Note: You must ask Haryn Rehn about Okyarna Rehn to get the "flags" for this quest.

Find Haryn Rehn (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at -1240, 1420, -23  • Vah Rehn camp)

You say, 'Hail, Haryn Rehn'
Haryn Rehn tells you, 'And a pleasant hail to you, <Player Name>!' Haryn manages his best imitiation-grin. 'These are exciting times. I'm glad you could share them with me. Or should I say, 'share them with us'?'
You say, 'Who are all these people?'
Haryn Rehn tells you, 'Of these folk, and ignoring the ones you brought back, well...' Haryn lowers one ear and cocks his head. 'To be honest, I didn't know many of them very well. I got along with Okyarna and Yejhana best, I suppose.' Haryn chuffs. 'That's some telling coincidence for you.'
You say, 'Who's Okyarna?'
Haryn Rehn tells you, 'An orphaned child. His father died before he came here. His mother fell ill two years ago.' Haryn's eyes grow distant as he continues. 'I always treated him as a kind of kid brother, but it's probably closer to a son. From what little I know of his father, the man didn't do a thing for him.'

Find Okyarna Rehn (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at -1310, 1320, -23  • Vah Rehn camp)

You say, 'Hail, Okyarna Rehn'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'Hello!'
You say, 'I talked to Haryn earlier. He thinks highly of you.'
Okyarna looks uncomfortable. 'Yeah... He takes care of me now, I guess.'
You say, 'That's okay, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.'
Okyarna nods. 'The vah say you're helping us to find and bring people back. Are you?
You say, 'Yes. Some of them are in some very strange places.'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'Thanks, from all of us.' Okyarna puffs himself up. 'They don't like to talk about it, so I will. There's new life now. Everyone is hopeful. They talk about building things, about starting over. And it's because of you. So... thank you.'

Find Vyre Sraen (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  • Vah Rehn camp)

You say, 'Hail, Vyre Sraen'
Vyre looks up at you.
You say, 'Do you know anybody here in the camp?'
Vyre gestures.
You say, 'You might want to talk to Okyarna. I think you two would get along fine.'
Vyre gestures.
Note: After time Vyre Sraen and Okyarna Rehn will begin to talk to one another.

Find Okyarna Rehn (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at -1310, 1320, -23  • Vah Rehn camp)

You say, 'Hail, Okyarna Rehn'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'Hello!'
You say, 'I heard you and Vyre talking. Do you want my help?'
Okyarna nods slowly, ears askance. '...aye.' He doesn't seem very excited.
You say, 'Why were you pressing Vyre about what he saw in Highhold Keep?'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'I... I hoped he hadn't saw my father. Not really.' Okyarna looks down, ears flat.
You say, 'Wait, what? How could he have seen your father in Highkeep?'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'He didn't want me to say, but...' Okyarna shrugs. 'Vyre never told you how he got there, did he? He was put...' Okyarna winces. 'he was put right by the Terror. Behind it--it didn't see him--but he said it was resting on a great mountain of bones. He says he saw a vah skull right at the edge, staring straight at him.'
You say, 'And you think those bones are your father's?'
Okyarna looks away.
You say, 'Why would this 'terror' have your father's bones?'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'He... he wasn't a good man.' He shivers, sniffling. 'He loved me! I know he did! It's not *fair*!' Okyarna stamps his foot. 'It was all behind him! He'd been good for years. Why couldn't they let him go?!'
You say, '-Wait for Okyarna to continue.-'
Okyarna watches you, a mix of hope and old-wound sadness playing on his face. 'When... when they took him, they said they were going to feed him to the Terror. I asked the healer what they meant.' Okyarna screws up his face and looks away. '...the healer, she said my father was a bad man who got what he deserved. She said the Terror would gobble him up and never let him go.' He looks up at you helplessly. 'And Vyre saw him, he's still there!'
You say, 'Do you know what he did?'
Okyarna shakes his head. 'No, he never told me.'
You say, 'Do you know who they were?'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'He never talked about it... about what he'd done. I didn't recognize anyone.'
You say, 'What happened to you after they took him?'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'They kicked me out of the caves.' Okyarna shrugs. 'I don't mind, I guess. I didn't have any reason left to stay. At least here Haryn looks after me. Plus the caves are destroyed now, so...'
You say, 'I'll help you, but you have to promise me to stay out of Highkeep.'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'Wh... what?'
You say, 'Promise me.'
Okyarna looks away. '...okay. But please, you hafta *do* something!'

Find Healer Vogir (Athica  at -60, -690, -10  •)

Note: Any Healer NPC will give this dialogue.
You say, 'I'm looking for information on a thing in Highkeep called the 'terror', and how to wrest someone out of its grasp.'
Healer Vogir says, 'You ask much, friend, but I can see your mind is fixed on the task.' She leans forward, studying your face. 'I suspect you know little more than what you've said, else you'd have more fear about you. The Terror is a very old, very bad thing, and it plays a role in deeds most foul that few people suspect. It acts as a font, of sorts, but when one sips of its power, however indirectly, one becomes leashed to it. To be given to the Terror is to make final payment on an implicit debt. Most seek to delay that payment, but all eventually, inevitably find themselves in the clutches of the Terror. To free someone will be *most* difficult.'
You say, 'It is possible, then?'
Healer Vogir says, 'Barely so, but perhaps, perhaps... We must know more of the initial nature of the deal. Hunt the dead and fix your mind upon the one you wish to free. Such contracts and bargains often trap souls into the bodies of powerful skeletons and vampires and such, and with your being focused on the task you may find that certain examples stand out to you. We need not have the exact contract and your mind will pick out similar, and adequate, examples for us to use. It may not even be as gauche as a piece of parchment, either--be on the lookout for anything tainted with the reek of deals ill-struck. Identification spells may clear any doubt you have about a specific thing, and we shall require three specific, seperate markers. Oh, and something else--it will be hard, I suspect, but you must find a possession of great importance to the one you wish to free. Find these things, bring them to me, and I will tell you what I can.'

Return to Okyarna Rehn (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at -1310, 1320, -23  • Vah Rehn camp)

You say, 'Okyarna, the healer I spoke with told me that we need something of your father's--something that was very important to him.'
Okyarna waits a long moment. Eventually, and with ears drooped flat, he digs through his pockets and produces an old, grimy flag. The fabric is soft and smooth to the touch--the ash and soot covering it seems to be part of the matieral itself. 'This was his house banner. He gave it to me...' He sniffs. 'He wanted me to have something of his, but he said he didn't have anything else that they wouldn't take.' He reluctantly hands you the banner. '...please bring it back. It's all I have.

You receive Cursed Banner from Okyarna Rehn.

Return to Healer Vogir (Athica  at -60, -690, -10  •)

Note: Again any city Healer NPC should do.

Gather and give Healer Vogir the following items:

Healer Vogir says, 'Yes, this will do, this will do nicely...' The healer holds a hand over the banner, chanting softly, and looking at each of the three other items in turn. After a moment, the chanting stops. 'It would be easier if we had the original contract, for then we may be able to find a loophole--there often are, in things of this nature. Since that option is closed to us, we must break the bonds by force. Thankfully, given what you've found, I believe this is possible.' The Healer regards you coolly. 'You have told me little of what you do, and I know not why you wish to free this man. You do not have the power within you to absolve his crimes. But...' The healer shrugs. 'I sense a purpose about you, a strength guiding your moves that I dare not gainsay.' The healer hands you a scroll. 'Take this. Go to the Terror, kill it as best you are able--when it is driven temporarily from the mortal realm, take the physical bones you wish to reclaim. Bring them and the scroll to the cursed man's next of kin.'

You receive Ritual Scroll from Healer Vogir.

Healer Vogir returned Cursed Banner to you.

Return to Okyarna Rehn (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at -1310, 1320, -23  • Vah Rehn camp)

Give Okyarna Rehn the following items:

Okyarna takes the scroll in his small hands and reads it over. As you watch, the vah child digs a shallow grave for his father's bones. After placing the bones and banner in the cairn, he holds the scroll high and reads from it. He stutters often, but it is enough--the scroll glows brightly. The healer's voice rings out: 'A chance sighting, a curse brought to light after decades in darkness? There are no coincidences, <Player Name>. All you do moves at her whim.' The scroll turns to ash in his hands. The ash settles along the bones and banner, and when Okyarna reaches a hand in, the soot comes off at his touch--and the material below is clean. He wipes the bones and banner clean, but stops at the latter. As he holds it aloft, the reason for his hesitation is clear: The banner bears the crest and name of House Sraen. Vyre sits down, hugging his knees to his chest. Okyarna spends a long moment watching his friend before handing you the banner. He mumbles 'I don't need this anymore... thanks...' before covering the bones with dirt.

You have completed a quest. [Sins of the Father]

You say, 'Hail, Okyarna Rehn'
Okyarna Rehn says, 'I need some time to think.' He shakes his head, looking over at Vyre. 'I had no idea.'
