Find Kathik of the Blades (Grobb  • Near the Warrior guild) .

Hand Kathik of the Blades your Filled Out Armor Invoice:

Kathik of the Blade's eyes flick across the invoice rapidly, hissing occasionally and glancing up at you, 'I see you've avoided a severe punishment for your tardiness thanks to the Quartermaster, remember to thank him <player name>. As it is you have risen above my expectations and actually earned the armor you wear now, more then some of the wardens here can say actually. The Quartermaster also notes you show promise as a smith here and looking at the armor you've restored I must agree, it is an acceptable job you've done. We can use all the talent we have in our ranks trooper so I will give you one final task to accomplish if you can.'
You say, 'What is this task?'
Kathik of the Blade says, 'Not much information still exists from the forgotten days of the empire of Ikisith, where we Iksar originate, it was a very advanced and powerful civilization but unfortunately precious little knowledge has survived. My family however has kept one little tidbit alive, passing it down from one warrior to the next. I shall pass it to you now, whether you can use it remains to be seen but if you do succeed you may wield weapons first forged in that long ago land. Are you listening carefully <player name>?'
You say, 'I'm listening.'
Kathik of the Blade says, 'Good, I despise repeating myself! Now then, long ago some of my ancestors were great smiths of the ancient empire, brothers they were Hak'Toree and Hawn'Soah. The brothers forged great blades for those they felt were worthy, no price would motivate them to create a sword if they felt it would be misused so their weapons were exceedingly rare. One reason they were so sought after however was stories of blades that gained strength as their bearer did, the stronger the soul of the swordsman the stronger the sword. The methods for forging these finest blades are far too complicated or incomplete, but my line has kept alive the secrets of crafting the most simple blades. If you are truly gifted enough to craft these first swords, perhaps you may learn how to increase their power over time. First however, you need to take the first step and that would be attempting to make the swords.'
You say, 'Then I will make them.'
Kathik of the Blade says, 'I'm sure you will try trooper, otherwise I wouldn't be wasting my time, whether you succeed is another matter. The blade and handle are one piece, a tempered steel rod hammered to keen edge with a Blackscale Hammer, remember to watch the balance. The grip for each blade must be made from the sinew of a fine swordsman among your enemies, you may find worthy opponents within the Halls of Mielech. Finally, an Iron Ingot is needed to forge a hilt for each blade. You can mine for Iron in the underground home of the frogloks, or the ore-rich hillsides of the Obsidian Shard Mountains. Stamp one of those symbols into each hilt with your Blackscale Hammer to make them properly. The first says Kai, it stands for offense, your strong hand. The second, Sei, means defense, your off hand. Combine the parts for each blade separately with the Blackscale hammer and with any luck you will find yourself the owner of rare swords from history.'
Note: You cannot mine iron in The Halls of Mielech, no matter what Kathik says.

You receive Platinum Stamp - Kai from Kathik of the Blades.

You receive Platinum Stamp - Sei from Kathik of the Blades.
