Ointments are magical preparations that can be used to gift otherwise useless or clumsy hide types with properties that make them into excellent suits of armor. There are four known types of ointments: The basic, "white" ointment, the more advanced red and green ointments, and finally the advanced blue ointment. Ointments are made by brewers, and you should seek out your local brewery for more information on their making.

Basic ointment is presently only known to be used in the curing of silk - combined along with a piece of silk armor in your kit, it will craft better armor, both lighter and more durable.

The green ointment is usable on the hides of drakes. This will craft armor suited well to those of clerical profession, with magical properties that aid the channeling of their power.

The red ointment, similarly, can be applied to the hides of cougars and panthers, for the creation of lightweight armor commonly preferred by martial artists and other fighters who do not wish to be burdened.

The blue ointment is said to be usable to work with exquisite silks and the hides of wyverns and wyrms, legendary creatures from the far north, but I have been unable to get any such hides for confirmation. It is said that to make Exquisite Silk Cloaks, Sleeves and Pantaloons you will need two swatches, and the Robe requires three.

Additionally, when creating pants or a tunic (or robe) you will need to use two of the appropriate ointments.
