Notus of the Wind and his retinue of air elemental underlings.

Strategy

  1. Clear the four air elementals.
  2. Engage.
  3. As Notus approaches 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%, heal the tank to full and move melee DPS away from the fight; the tank will sustain a major AE at each of these percentages.
  4. After each massive AE, move melee DPS back into range.
  5. At 10%, the emote "Notus of the Wind begins to dissipate!" appears; all persons on his aggro list will suffer 75 points of unmitigable non-melee damage every 4 seconds until the Adept is slain.
Note: If the corpse of Notus of the Wild sinks into the well, it can be dragged into view by targeting it and typing /corpse.

Group suggestions

Doable with as few as three powerful on-level characters, though at least one full group is generally recommended.

Battle information

  • Elemental
  • Total HP: ~23,000
  • Melee Statistics:
    • Max Hit: 110
    • Max Bash: 40
    • Typical DPS Range vs. Tank: 40 - 50 DPS
  • Special abilities
    • Summon
Note: Notus of the Wind moves very slowly and will even "gate" back to his well every time he emits an AE; coupled with his ability to Summon, this effectively forces the players to fight him where he spawns.
  • Spells
    • Spell: South Wind Magic-based AE (Throw into air) -- Resistable with approximately 260 MR
    • (Unknown) Magic-based 1500 pt AE every 20% -- Unresistable, though mitigated substantially with MR (340 MR -> 436 Damage)
Note: (This every 20% spell seems to have changed in 2.5 to something significantly less powerful. Pets seem to have a special case with this spell and always take 200 damage.this spell may have a effect that only hits the tank or those that resist it which causes higher damage to that toon further testing is required to determine which. This extra effect comes with a falling message when it occurs though no visible knock back occurs. was tested with a tank with around 365 MR)
