Find William Defar (Storm Sea  at -1210, 1926, -12  • Island in the Storm Sea) .

You say, 'Hail, William Defar'
William Defar tells you, 'I have been expecting you. The path you will weave is long and winding... could it be wrought with peril, molded in greatness, spiral into eternal nothingness? Only time will tell, but I am here to help you to your destiny.'
William Defar tells you, 'Ah, but we must start small, hmm? Perhaps then, there are answers I request of you. We must be sure that you understand your surroundings, and the history of the planet that is your home. If you are ready to begin, then just say so. You gain 1,050 experience!!

William Defar tells you, 'I see you are willing to learn of the history of our world. Then perhaps you are prepared to embark on a journey as well, to recollect on the past?'
You say, 'I am prepared.'
William Defar tells you, 'The city of Newport was founded on the principles of rebuilding the heritage of the races after The Fall. It is a shining new beacon of hope on an otherwise darkened horizon. You should go there, and retrieve a cobblestone from the ground near the grand clock tower of the city. Return to me once you have it in hand.'

Gather and give Cobblestone to William Defar.

William Defar tells you, 'Ahh, you have made your pilgrimage to Newport, and returned with what I asked of you. Not only are you willing to learn, but you are also willing to do as asked. Take this book, study it like the others.'
William Defar tells you, 'The time will come when you must put the knowledge gained from it to use. And as a reward for your willingness to learn, I give you this: you need only apply it to the piece of jewelry of your choosing to receive its benefits. For now though, I feel it is time you learned of the times just before, and just after the fall.'

You say, 'What of the fall?'
William Defar tells you, 'The fall is what many refer to it as. It was a time in which Kaezul unleashed sheer terror across the lands of Dalaya. His armies marched over and slaughtered thousands and thousands in a conquest of the old and new worlds. Ah, but I prattle. Now you must learn more, hmm? I ask you then, to seek out the following: A dwarf within the city of Freeport, who knows the tale of its fall.'
William Defar tells you, 'A plague-wracked survivor who has seen the plaguelands beyond the gates of Freeport in another, more fruitful time. An old high elven knight, now wasting his remaining years reminiscing of the past at the docks of Goblinskull. A high seer of the Dawn Tribe, who will share the story of his people. A Captain of the Thurgadin guard, who shares tales of refugees since come and gone. A dwarf who selflessly trained refugees within the city of Erudin.'
William Defar tells you, 'A historian who devotes his life to ensuring the story of the battle of King's Pass is heard, so much so that he has journeyed to a region closer to the grounds where the very story took place. A Theron of Lore of the Taldorian race, who will share the history of their people with you. Meet all of these individuals, learn of the stories they tell, and then return to me.'

Visit the eight individuals asked of you Main Quest - Races of Dalaya and return to William Defar (Storm Sea  at -1210, 1926, -12  • Island in the Storm Sea) .

You say, 'Hail, William Defar'
William Defar tells you, 'You have returned to me. More enlightened than when you left, as well. But you see, this is only the beginning. The journey which lies ahead of you is a long one, one which will span your lifetime. I hope that you have studied the book given to you earlier, as asked. What I can offer you has come and gone, but I will guide you to a new teacher. One whose knowledge surpasses even mine.'
William Defar tells you, 'Travel to the Sea of Swords, there you will find Loremaster Tresaria, and there you will begin to learn the meaning of our history.'
