Find Lady Shaina (Valley of Erimal  at 808, 839, -23  • Erimal, top floor of Sanctuary, south west building) .

You say, 'Hail, Lady Shaina'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'Welcome, <Player Name>. Welcome to my Sanctuary.'
You say, 'who... what are you?'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'I am Shaina. I am a lich, and I am the founder of the Seekers. I will tell you everything if you will listen to the story which I am about to tell you, my story, and the story of this world.'
You say, 'Go on. I will listen'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'My own story began some one hundred and fifty years ago, in the early days of Kaezul's invasion. I was then Shaina, worshipper of Jayla, the Goddess of Knowledge. I was a Lorekeeper, one of her acting agents on Dalaya. It was my duty to seek out and preserve lore, encourage learning among the races, while refraining from interfering directly to prevent its destruction.'
You say, 'go on'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'I will not bore you with a detailed recount of the Fall. Suffice to say, I was never pleased with the non-intervention doctrine, and facing the Iksar invasion, I urged that we put our knowledge to use in rallying the races, supplying them with weapons and artifacts, giving them a fighting chance. Needless to say, it did not happen that way. I... did what I could, but it was far too little I could do by myself. I had to watch everything I loved turn to ashes around me.'
You say, 'what happened next'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'Eventually, I fled, just like everyone else. I fled across the ocean to Erudin. There I watched the refugees as they sealed themselves away from the world, their spirits broken. Yet... even as most were content to simply waste away in the cramped conditions of Erudin, a few reached beyond, sought more.'
You say, 'who were they'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'Adventurers like yourself. Men and women with the spark of ambition. They began small, clearing the kobold infestation out of the Mistwoods, exploring the long-forgotten ruins of the First City. Eventually they found ways to leave the safe refuge of their island. They travelled to the desolate North, and found the refugees of the Ogres, Trolls, the Dark Elves, and the renegade Iksar who had escaped from Kaezul. They opened portals into the Lands of Magic, and met the Taldorians, fought the treacherous Akheva, even ventured to the planes and the undead-infested ruins of the Old World.'
You say, 'and what about you'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'Once I found others like me, those adventurers and their spark of ambition, I found something new to live for. Foreswearing the ideals of the Lorekeepers, but remaining true to Jayla in my heart, I began acting as an advisor to the groups of adventurers, eventually encouraging the formation of the first Adventurer's Guild. They called themselves 'Guardians', and with my guiding hand, they did much good for this damaged world.'
You say, 'so what happened'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'They betrayed me. Their own greed blinded them in the end, and they began ignoring my advice, neglecting their duties. Guardians, indeed! During one of the many pointless conflicts in the Lands of Magic, the Akheva were threatening to invade our own world. I called upon them to stop the incursion. They did, but certainly not with any haste. Many lives were lost for the simple reason that they could not be bothered away from their own selfish pursuits. Among those lives were my own.'
You say, 'then how did you become like... that?'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'One of the more charming practices of the Akheva was to animate slain enemies as tortured shades, powerless entities bound to a certain place and doomed to spend a bitter eternity mourning their own deaths. After cursing the Guardians for their laxity and their selfishness, I wandered the Lands for a while, growing more and more bitter. Bitter with the Akheva for doing this to me. Bitter with the Guardians for their failure. Bitter with Jayla for not helping me, and with all her followers for their stubborn refusal to act. It was then, in my darkest moments, that I came upon what would become my new allies. They gave me this body, allowed my tormented shade to gain some semblance of life again. I returned to Dalaya and formed the Seekers, most ex-Lorekeepers like me who want to USE our knowledge, not just hoard it.'
You say, 'so what about me? why am I really here?'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'You are one among those who carry the spark of change, ambition, progress, the qualities that we Seekers cherish above all else, for was it not ambition that allowed the defeated populace of the Old World to rise once more as the phoenix from the ashes? For whatever reasons - selfish, altruistic, or even whimiscal - you desire change, and in this we are kin. You have proven to be of great value to us already, and the time has come for you to work for me directly. So then, Seeker <Player Name>. Have I satifsfied your curiousity? Are you ready to continue?'
You say, 'I am ready to continue.'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'Very well. I believe that your business in the Heartland is almost concluded. The second Behemoth they built is exactly what we need, what we came there hoping to find. A weapon that would be able to even the scales against the innumerable legions of Kaezul. It is crucial that we get our hands on this weapon, particularily before Kaezul's minions can. As evidenced by the bones you found, though, it is clearly a weapon you must be careful with. We don't dare try to activate it until we know more about it. We must relocate it from its current resting place.'
You say, 'and how do you propose I do that?'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'It certainly is no simple task, but I have knowledge of an Erudite artifact that may be able to help us. It was known as the 'Unfolding Portal', a small enchanted box that could be set to open a portal to any destination the user chose. Unfortuantely, a side effect of the device was that it would drive any living creature it translocated stark, raving, mad, a side effect that should not cause any damage to an unthinking clockwork. The Unfolding Portal was lost, along with so many other early Erudite works, when their First City was abandoned. I want you to travel there and dig it up. Go, go and come back when you have the Unfolding Portal with you.'
You say, 'as you say. I will get it.'
Lady Shaina tells you, 'Yes. Go. We will speak more when you have the Unfolding Portal.'

Head to Ruins of First City to retreive the Unfolding Portal. The artificer spawns in the first tower on the bridge. The respawn is 30 minutes on the artificer with no PH.

Gather and give Unfolding Portal to Lady Shaina.

Lady Shaina tells you, 'The Unfolding Portal! You have it! Allow me one moment to set its destination... ah, yes, there! Quickly now, take this and go to the Undercaverns. Place it under the Clockwork Behemoth and activate it using that switch on the side. It should relocate the Behemoth to a safe location for study.'

You receive Unfolding Portal from Lady Shaina.

Find Clockwork Behemoth MKII (Heartland Undercaverns  at 246, 94  •) .

Give Unfolding Portal to Clockwork Behemoth MKII.
