Walkthrough

Find A Roaming Erudite (Mistwoods  • Roams across zone, spawns and despawns randomly) .

You say, 'Hail, A Roaming Erudite'
A Roaming Erudite looks at you, unimpressed. 'Begone. One as mundane as you has no business with me.'

Hail A Roaming Erudite again with any illusion on.

Note: Worn illutions seem to work just fine. Icebone worked as well as wolf form via Shape of the Wild.
You say, 'Hail, A Roaming Erudite'
A Roaming Erudite raises an eyebrow. 'Interesting. But really, do me the courtesy of speaking with me as your true self if you will.

Remove all illusions and Hail the A Roaming Erudite once again.

You say, 'Hail, A Roaming Erudite'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Ah, excellent. It is a pleasure to meet you, <Player Name>'.

Journal Text: I finally got this strange erudite to acknowledge me, I wonder what he wants.
You say, 'How is it that you know my name?'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Simple. Every intelligent being emits an...aura, if you will, to borrow a phrase from a simplistic mystic. Learning to make sense of that aura allows me to learn quite a bit, from something simple like your name, to whom it is you may be pining for. Nevertheless, this is not a topic of interest to you. I do, however, suspect I know of something that might be more intriguing to one such as you.'
You say, 'Wait, why wouldn't this topic be of interest to me?'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Not to be rude, but I have spent a significant number of years and worked with hundreds of subjects to learn the skill. Additionally, I possess knowledge from a source to whom few others have access.'
You say, 'Could I meet this source?'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'No, I'm afraid not.'
You get the sense that this is not worth pursuing.
You say, 'OK, tell me about this intriguing thing.'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'I desire knowledge, above nearly all else. You clearly have spent time learning various spellcasting arts, and thus we are of similar mind. I have a proposal for you, should you be interested.'
You say, 'I am indeed interested, tell me more.'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'To answer you, I need to examine what it is you already know. Tell me, you have a spell book, yes? May I examine it?'
Note: For this section of the quest you'll need to have all of your resurrection spells scribed.
You say, 'Of course you may.'
A Roaming Erudite pages through your spell book.
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Ah, yes, this will do nicely. You have mastered the basics of reviving fallen comrades, but there is so much more I can teach you.'

Journal Text: The erudite claims to know something interesting about resurrections. This may be worth pursuing.
You say, 'What more do you know of resurrection?'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'It is still an area of active research for me. I would be happy to share this knowledge, though would require some components. Naturally, I would expect you to bring these to me. Additionally, I must make use of a few rare components myself. While I have access to those, they do cost me, so reimbursement in the amount of 1,000pp would also be needed.'
You say, 'Thanks, but no thanks.'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Very well. Should you change your mind, simply return to me.'
You say, 'Very well, what do you need?'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'For starters, I require three of the well-known 'cantrips' others pass off as spells. I believe most healers have these, and a copy of each of their best existing spells will work nicely. I will also need a Sickly Potion of Renewal.'
You say, 'The first items should be no problem, but I have no idea what that potion is.'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Hmm, I have never had trouble finding it, but then I know many gifted tradeskillers across this whole land. It is possible it might take some experimentation, though I know it has three components, none of which are easy to make. I believe one alchemist told me it was actually a mixture of other concoctions, and that its discoverer had found it completely by accident!'
You say, 'I shall return at once.'
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Wonderful! I must say, it is a pleasure to share knowledge with one who is actually worthy!'

Journal Text: I hope this is indeed worth my time. I am to find three scrolls used by various priests; they are to be their most powerful resurrection spells. Additionally, I need some sort of alchemical potion - all I know is it has 3 components, none of which are easy to make. This may require experimentation.

Gather and give A Roaming Erudite:

  • Spell: Call of Life
  • Spell: Reviviscence
  • Spell: Soul Call
  • Sickly Potion of Renewal
Note: Be sure to have at least 1,000 Platinum on your character, but do *NOT* put it into the trade window.
A Roaming Erudite says, 'This will work nicely. One moment, <Player Name>.'
A Roaming Erudite places each scroll in a small pot, then dumps the potion on them. He retrieves a satchel from his belt and empties the contents into the pot as well, along with blank parchment. After a brief moment of concentration and a magic incantation, a bright flash emanates from the pot, and he retrieves a slightly-wet and burned scroll.
A Roaming Erudite says, 'Use this well, <Player Name>, I think you will find it most useful. Perhaps we can do business again another day, I do look forward to that.

You lose 1,000 platinum pieces.

You receive Spell: Mass Revivification.

You gain 100,000 experience!!

You have completed a quest. [Expanding your Horizons]

Journal Text: A mass resurrection spell! This is powerful magic, indeed!
