Walkthrough Continued

Emma Gemcutter will now appear near you.

You say, 'Hail Emma Gemcutter.'
You notice Emma has found you. She speaks softly, 'Master... I...'
You say, 'Hail, Emma Gemcutter'
Emma doesn't look up, she just mutters and coughs.
Note: At this point the only information for what to do for the next step will be through a journal update. Read your journal!

Find Afaven (Faentharc Woods  at 99, -926, 109  • South shore of the lake) .

You say, 'Hail, Afaven'
Afaven says, 'You have much to do. Come back to me with any questions you may have. I'll do my best to answer them. For Entropy! For Gradalsh!'
You say, 'That fools errand in Freeport I was sent on, has cost me. Emma is dying prematurely. What can be done?'
Afaven says, 'I was afraid this might happen. She certainly wasn't good for very much last I visited her. There is no cure for this. It's a death sentence.'
You say, 'There must be some way to slow it down, or at least allow her to ignore the pain.'
Afaven says, 'Well perhaps... I'll need supplies first though and I have little idea where to find them. My alchemy book tells me of two ingredients that when mixed together, make should dull any physical pain. Shade Essence, and Distilled Terror.'
You say, 'Any clue where to find the Shade Essence?'
Afaven says, 'You'd only find it at night, that's for certain. My book mentions it being a by-product of one of Kaezul's weapons, so that should limit your search a bit.'
You say, 'Any clue where to find the Distilled Terror?'
Afaven says, 'I'm a bit at a loss on this one. But the book mentions the Eldenal Mansion in passing... probably not a bad place to start.'

Gather and give Afaven:

Afaven says, 'Perfect, let me just mix it... okay. Give this to Emma, it should restore her strength some. But now is probably the time to act. End the game and complete the mission.'

You receive Dulling Draft from Afaven.

You gain 50000 experience!!

Return to Emma Gemcutter (Halas  at 168, 392, 5  • Emma remains inside the locked Jeweler house at night, it can be picklocked.) .

Give Dulling Draft to Emma Gemcutter.

Emma sees the potion and uses all her strength to grab it and drink it. She seems to gain some color back, though the sickness is clearly there. 'Master... thank you... but I still feel the sickness, the cure wasn't successful!'
You say, 'The full cure is not possible for one such as you. Unless you get your hands a bit more bloody. McAston must die, by your hands.'
Emma Gemcutter looks at you for a moment, but after a second of hesitation she nods. 'It shall be done Master. Distract him for me and I will end him. I will follow you from a distance, while you distract McAston.'

Return to Chieftan Warren McAston (Halas  at 460, -270, 3  • On the west wall approaching the warrior guild. Only spawns if flagged.) .

You say, 'Hail, Chieftan Warren McAston'
Chieftan Warren McAston looks at you, hatred in his eyes. 'My son is not going to last much longer. He looks worse than Emma. I need the cure now!'
You say, 'Just one last task McAston. Slay Emma and your family will be cured. Her life for your family's.'
Chieftan Warren McAston nods. 'Very well. It shall be done.'
You say, 'She'll be here any moment, be ready.'
Chieftan Warren McAston says, 'Bodyguards, leave us.'
Emma says, 'Good day Chieftan... I've come to take your life. For Gradalsh! For Entropy!'
Chieftan Warren McAston says, 'Take my life? I was told to kill you... By Enthann, Emma we're both being played! There is no cure!'
Emma shrieks at McAston, 'Liar! You are a liar! I have seen the cure! I received some of it in fact! And I am strong and beautiful again!'
Chieftan Warren McAston growls. 'There is a cure then... and you gave her a sip... and not my son?'

Watch as Chieftan Warren McAston kills Emma Gemcutter.

You say, 'Hail, Chieftan Warren McAston.'
Chieftan Warren McAston says, 'Another death on my hands... I... I hate you more than anything... I'm not even human anymore. I've done everything you've wanted. GIVE ME THE CURE! GIVE ME WHAT I WANT! GIVE ME WHAT I DESERVE!'
You say, 'You are indeed broken beyond repair. Perfect. It is your turn to die now!'
Chieftan Warren McAston stare at you in horror, then lashes out and attacks!

Kill Chieftan Warren McAston.

Chieftain Warren McAston says, 'I.. you... what have I become...
Chieftain Warren McAston drops a note as he collapses.

Return to Decay Lord Grindrun.

You say, 'Hail, Decay Lord Grindrun'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'You have returned? My vision has been given flesh! I can tell this! Give me the Chaos Essence.'
You say, 'What happened to the attack on Newport? It is distinctly not in shambles...
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Do not speak of what you do not understand! Give me the Chaos Essence! I have dreamt of it for so long... our Master demands this!'

Give him the Chaos Essence.

Decay Lord Grindrun cackles madly. 'Yes! Yes, this is it! Raw Chaos! For Entropy!
You say, 'For Gradalsh!

A mysterious man appears.

Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Ah, you have arrived Cold One. Your predictions were proven correct.'
a mysterious man says, 'It was inevitable. Chaos and Darkness are inevitable. Your lackey did well to capture a bit of it.'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Indeed. What is left to do?'
a mysterious man glances at you then speaks again to Decay Lord Grindrun, 'Binding the Chaos you have to ensure its spread.
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Of course. I shall focus our efforts on gathering the support pieces then.'
Decay Lord Grindrun bows to the mysterious man, who proceeds to cast a spell and vanish.

Continue talking to Decay Lord Grindrun.

You say, 'Hail, Decay Lord Grindrun'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'More is needed from you, Voice <Player Name>. In order for the plan to continue we need you to bring us back a minor artifact.'
You say, 'Who was that man? I thought you received visions from Gradalsh?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'You don't need to know. Rest assured he is a follower of Entropy and will indeed assist us in our goals.'
You say, 'What do I need to gather, Sir?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Loyal as ever <Player Name>. Venture to the tower of dread on the Frosthorn Coast. Bring back three disease crafted weapons. We need to figure out which will work best for our purposes. A scimitar, axe, and harpoon, all of the single handed variety will do. Bring all back to me.'

Gather and give to Decay Lord Grindrun.

  • Disease Crafted Axe
  • Disease Crafted Scimitar
  • Disease Crafted Harpoon
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Excellent work, Voice. Your accomplishments shall be remembered as we move forward. Ah he has returned! He had a task for you specifically <Player Name>, ask him about it.'

You gain 50000 experience!!

Talk to a mysterious man.

You say, 'Hail, a mysterious man'
a mysterious man says, 'Ah friend. I am glad to speak to you in person. You are ever useful. If only my own followers were as capable as you... but alas, it was not meant to be.'
You say, 'Who are you and what do you want.'
a mysterious man says, 'I am a wizard of no small power, who knows a bit more about this world than most. But worry not about the specifics. They will be made clear if you prove yourself worthy.'
You say, 'Worthy for what?'
a mysterious man says, 'Service to Chaos and Entropy of course.'
You say, 'Just spill what you need done, I don't trust you, and would rather get this over with.'
a mysterious man says, 'Oh friend, without the small talk and pleasantries, what are we really? But as you wish. The weapons you recovered will help us greatly. Weapons crafted from pathogens are an impressive feat of alchemy after all. But to continue my research, I require something known as Mourning Dew. It is a rare and precious fluid and you will only find it one place on Dalaya. The private crypt of the Eldenal family. Go there and bring a vial of this substance to Grindrun. Prove your worth, friend, do you mind if I call you that? Return swiftly.'

Gather a Vial of Morning Dew and return it to Decay Lord Grindrun.

You gain 60000 experience!!

Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Excellent. All is almost as it should be. Your services to the Cold One have been commendable. We have another task for you-'
You say, 'Enough of this, where is the Chaos Essence. I went through too much trouble to let is sit around.'
a mysterious man says, 'I have it. It must be taken back to the sepulcher in order to unlock its true powers.
You say, 'Grindrun what is the meaning of this! That Essence is not for the likes of him!'
Decay Lord Grindrun sighs. 'It was only ever meant for him.
You say, 'This is madness! The others will not stand for this Grindrun.
Decay Lord Grindrun laughs. 'I am the highest servant of Gradalsh. They will do what I say.'
You say, 'You've gone mad Grindrun.'
a mysterious man says, 'Dispose of him Grindrun. He is clearly too loyal to Gradalsh to be of further use to us.'
You say, 'Grindrun, if you dare betray Gradalsh... there is no power in Dalaya that will protect you from me.'
Decay Lord Grindrun quickly casts a spell, but nothing seems to happen. 'He appears to be protected by something, Cold One.'
a mysterious man says, '<Player Name> had the Chaos Essence for too long. Just banish him for now. It'll amount to the same thing.'
You say, 'Burn in Azzerach Grindrun.'
You are overwhelmed by shadows and cold. You slowly black out...

At this point, you will be teleported to Halls of Misery.

Note: Once again read your journal for the information you need!

Anuek, Avatar of Entropy says, '<Player Name>. Bow loyal servant. The Master has been watching you and knows all that has occurred. Vengeance shall be ours, by your hand, but first, your Scar. By the Master's will, I shall empower it, recreate it as something greater than it is.'

You receive Hand's Scar of Gradalsh from Anuek, Avatar of Entropy.

You say, 'I shall slay him at once!'
Anuek, Avatar of Entropy says, 'Patience, <Player Name>. Your name has been slandered amongst the cult. They would not let you get near Grindrun. You must prove to them your loyalty to Gradalsh first. Until then they have little reason to trust you over Grindrun.'
You say, 'Very well. I shall speak to the other Cultists.'
Anuek, Avatar of Entropy says, 'Those below you will not attempt to stop you. Concentrate your efforts on the Vanissa and the Terror Lord. When they fall in line, the others will as well.'
